I love interviewing doctors that not only have an education in natural medicine, but who make it their lifestyle. Aviva became a midwife and herbalist in her teens and it wasn’t until she had delivered thousands of babies that she decided to go to med school to become an MD. She shares instances when the medical system historically and even still today -- fails women and how passionate she is about integrating natural and allopathic medicine. If you look at her instagram page, you see that herbs are a way of life for her and she walks her talk.
Aviva Romm, MD, author of The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution, is a Yale-trained physician specializing in integrative medicine, a midwife, and an herbalist. Aviva helps women not only heal their bodies and minds, but transform their lives and their families’ health. She has spent 35 years as a healthcare practitioner and advocate for the health and environmental concerns of women and children.
Her mission is simple: to learn which natural approaches, from foods to herbs and supplements, to mind-body practices really work and for what. She wants to give you the facts you can trust and the tools you need, bridging the best of traditional wisdom and modern medicine, so you can feel like yourself again and feel empowered in your choices - whether for staying healthy, or getting well.
