FLOWER ESSENCE COLLECTION STORIES FOR AWAKENED EXPRESSION
Share
Recently, a friend of mine who’s a homeopathic doctor was telling me about ‘homeopathic provings’ – a multiple-day process where a group of people figure out what a new homeopathic remedy is for, by paying attention to everything that happens to them during the proving time.
It got me thinking about the way we collect flower essences. A little different, but similar.
The collection experience often mirrors the benefits of the flower essences.
Many of the flowers in the new Awakened Expression blend are a perfect example ~
Immediately after collecting the Ocotillo flower essence, we found ourselves in a surreal circus world of surprises:
~ A flower box full of rich dirt, with plastic flowers shoved in it.
~ A woman with a full thick beard and mustache, shaving her face in a car's passenger visor mirror.
~ A motorcycle whizzing back and forth, with the driver and his girlfriend wrapped around his waist … doing wheelies! Our jaws dropped in awe as we watched them ride back and forth.
As a flower essence, Ocotillo encourages us to open up our minds to a more malleable form of reality.
It helps us embrace spontaneity and choose enjoyment. We can feel spacious, flexible and open to whatever arises in the moment.
We collected the fiery Orange Fringed Orchid during a trip that felt like a full on attack from the elements & local critters.
We all got stung by jellyfish in the ocean, attacked by mosquitos and plagued by chiggers in the wetlands!
Coincidentally – or not so coincidentally – this was also the trip that we decided to add cayenne powder to our Smoke Offering, as a recommendation by our teacher to clear the unseen beings in the area.
The result? The cayenne went up into the smoke, filled the environment and we all coughed until we were red in the face! LOL.
It’s almost as though the choke of the airborne chili, the electrocution from the jellyfish and the fury of hot, irritated skin – itchy with critter bites, was precisely the transmission we needed in order to ‘cure poison with poison’ and bring to the light the healing power of the Orange Fringed Orchid.
This orchid enhances our resilience and strength in the face of conflict.
It helps us embody fearlessness and protection – and makes us impervious to outside influences.
I collected the Spider Orchid on the edge of a cloud forest in Costa Rica.
As I peeked into the jungly forest, I felt as if I was an intruder.
I surveyed around me and wondered which creatures (predators?) were watching me enter the cloud forest. I asked permission to make a flower essence, but I didn’t stay for long! I felt I was being watched by many eyes.
Spider Orchid helps us adventure into the unknown.
We can more fearlessly handle uncharted waters, and feel supported by the world around us.
We collected the Prickly Poppy on a hot summer day in the dry, harsh Sonoran desert.
All around us were spiky cacti, rocks and gravel roads. No water in sight. We were hot, hungry and had no snacks. It’s the kind of place where you could die if you got a flat tire and had to walk yourself miles out of the hot landscape.
Prickly Poppy helps us thrive even in a seemingly inhospitable environment.
It encourages us to stay light-hearted despite illness, suffering or struggle.
I made a trip with Taylor out to the desert looking for Saguaro flowers.
Many were in bloom, but we couldn’t reach them!
I went back a few days later, having located some buds that were within my reach, that I knew would bloom within the next few days. When I returned, those buds were already gone.
Luckily, I had come out to the desert this time with Alan. I needed his height and strength to help me harvest the flowers.
I literally could not have collected this flower without the masculine support.
Saguaro balances and enhances the divine masculine essence within each one of us.
It helps us wield a sword of truth, alignment and clarity.
Have you ever reflected on the environments where your favorite flowers grow?
What kind of experiences do you have in those environments?
What does it teach you, about you?
