WHAT IT REVEALS
If you’re drawn to Dendrobium Amplum, you might be craving an excess of something. That can look like attention, affection, love, time or energy. Or it can be something more physical, like cravings for specific types of food, shopping, consumption of anything. It can include excessive TV, social media, sex or in general: doing something abundantly, out of balance.
You might be at a point where your baggage feels heavy. You may feel exhausted with all the thoughts and desires in your mind. You might find yourself wanting to be with other people all the time. Or conversely, you’re longing for more independence, self-sufficiency and freedom.

WHAT IT CATALYZES
Dendrobium Amplum magnifies a sense of independence, self-sufficiency and breathing room. It creates more spaciousness in our thinking and perceiving. We experience a greater desire to explore and be alone.
It amplifies the reality that we are unique and special within ourselves; we don’t need external circumstance or validation to prove, display or point it out. We no longer need to be constantly accompanied.
We feel more connected to what’s around us. We experience a strong call for exploration of our outer world, combined with powerful inner exploration and introspection. We feel more comfortable with the unknown, with change and unpredictability.
Our cravings or excesses soften and dissolve. We discover the root causes of the impulse or urge to be drawn to those cravings. We’re more able to see into our fears, suppressed emotions, physical exhaustion or habitual tendencies that underlie specific patterns of excess.

COLLECTION STORY
While hiking through the jungle near Panchase, Nepal, our travel partner & Nepali Orchid guide, Mahendra, suddenly exclaimed that he believed he was going to see an orchid he’d never seen before in his life. Immediately after, one black snake and two black butterflies crossed our path (symbols of transformation).
Two minutes later, Mahendra spotted the Dendrobium Amplum growing from a tree about 20 paces off the trail. We joined him at the tree, and stared in awe at this fierce-looking wild orchid that appeared to have teeth.
FUN FACTS
Also known as “Black-Tongued Orchid” or “Large Dendrobium,” this is actually a generally small flower. It blooms from October to November in subtropical Asia.
Native to the Himalayas, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and China, it can also be found as far across the globe as Canada.
Dendrobium Amplum grows on trees or mossy rocks, and the flowers are long-lasting with a strong, sweet fragrance. The life-span of the blooms make them a popular choice in exotic bouquets in their native regions.
Like most other Dendrobium orchids, the pseudobulbs or "canes" at the base of the plant act as water canteens, ensuring survival during dry periods. The canes from previous growing seasons often dry out or appear lifeless, but are actually the base of new blooms.
