EASIEST VEGAN ROSE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES YOU'LL EVER MAKE

September 21, 2015

Vegan, flower-powered Rose Chocolate Truffles - in less than 10 minutes.

Okay, okay, the initial prep is less than 10 minutes ... but you have to wait a couple hours while they're cooling in the fridge ... that is ... unless you want a rose hot fudge sauce. Then you're done in 10!

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz *Dark Chocolate - we used Wei of Chocolate
  • 1/4 cup Coconut Cream, or use a can of Coconut Milk + scoop out the fattiest part on the top and save the rest in your refrigerator for cooking savory hot soups (That's what I did! You can also use Heavy Whipping Cream if you are friends with dairy!)
  • 1 tsp Rose Petal Powder
  • Extra Rose Petal Powder (or Cacao Powder) to roll the truffles in
  • Optional Magic: Your favorite Flower Elixir - We used Infinite Love!

* Makes about 15-20 truffles, depending on their size. The ones pictured here were made in a double batch and made about 30 large truffles.

Directions:

  1. Chop dark chocolate into small pieces and place into glass container.
  2. Put coconut cream into pan + heat. Stir in rose petal powder and keep stirring gently until it begins to simmer.
  3. Pour the rosy, hot coconut cream over the top of the chocolate pieces and stir until the chocolate is fully melted + silky smooth.
  4. Add one full dropper of Flower Elixir into the chocolate mixture + stir (this is the hot fudge sauce point in the game. I couldn't resist scooping out a few spoonfuls to test - you know, quality control).
  5. Place in the refrigerator to chill for 1-2 hours.
  6. Once the mixture has hardened, but still soft enough to work with, use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the chocolate mixture. (If the mixture is too soft, leave it in the fridge a little longer. If it is too hard, leave it out in room temperature to slightly melt). If you spoon it out, you may want to roll it into round balls, but beware: move quickly, as your body heat will melt them. Don't worry too much about making them perfectly round - these truffles will not last long!
  7. If you want the truffles to have a stronger rose flavoring (I did!), roll them in Rose Petal Powder. If you want less of a Rose flavor, roll them in Cacao Powder instead. Or do half/half, then you can try both.
  8. Store truffles in the fridge until you are ready to enjoy!

*Note: I used 70% dark chocolate, because I like them 'not too sweet'! If you like them sweeter, use a lesser percentage and the rose flavor will come out even more inside the truffle.
