Looking at a mandala drawing can be super intimidating. They tend to be unbelievably symmetrical, intricate, difficult + time consuming to create. Guess what?! That’s all an illusion.YOUcan make one ~ right now even! Here’s a super simple tutorial to help you become a mandala master!
First, draw a big circle (easiest to trace something like a bowl or roll of tape). This will be the final size of your mandala, so choose based upon how large you want it to ultimately be! Use a pencil for everything until you finish the design.
Pinpoint the center of you circle, then use a ruler to draw a straight line through it horizontally + vertically. The circle should be split into 4 equal quarters now.
Now, draw a little circle around the center of the circle. I typically use this circle as the center of my mandala flower. But you can create whatever design you want!
From here on out, the pattern is in your hands. Continue to build upon your design, continuing to make it as symmetrical as possible. Using the quarter grid lines as a guide makes the process much easier. Once your design is as elaborate as you wish, trace in pen or marker. Then erase all of the remaining pencil marks!
Now is the fun part ~COLOR!Go crazy. Use whatever colors are calling out to you as those probably reflect your mood in that moment.
Snap a pic of your unique mandala and share with us, #flowerevolutionlife. Draw on!
